I am an experienced, bilingual sales & marketing professional with significant experience in environmental sustainability/regulatory consulting sales and marketing. Professionally I am fortunate to have been involved in many activities that improve the quality of our environment, and make our world a happier and safer place to live. From assuring that Lead and Cadmium stay out of children’s toys, to helping innovate new sustainably sourced packaging, or assuring that industrial chemical manufacturers are using the greenest formulations possible, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a lot of people with big ideas to make the world a better place. UL Environment helps companies evolve, execute and communicate their sustainability strategies and initiatives with advisory services and expertise that supports the decision-making process every step of the way, including market research and strategy development. UL Environment helps reinforce credibility of sustainable product claims through robust certification, validation and testing services.
At UL Environment I grew revenue by identifying and acting on new opportunities to promote and sell a suite of sustainability services, primarily in the Renewable Energy, Chemicals, Pulp & Paper sectors. My focus on the planning, execution and tracking the results of strategic sales campaigns for UL Environment, including cold calls, client site visits and trade shows.
I leveraged my extensive knowledge of sustainability and environmental compliance trends to guide clients with regard to what UL services may best suit their business goals, and help them stand out in their marketplace.
Claigan has industry-leading experience and comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations and standards and related global requirements, Claigan helps companies discern and execute their compliance roadmap. Claigan is an industry leader in Environmental Regulatory Compliance specializing in the electronics industry, and is a subject matter leader in Conflict Minerals. Claigan is cited multiple times in The US SEC’s Dodd Frank Act final rules on Conflict Minerals.
Regulatory and Supply Chain Compliance Researcher
At Claigan I researched and authored regulatory compliance business intelligence documentation, recommendations, presentations for VP Consulting, provided audit and assessment of supply chain for compliance gaps, and managed strategic communications projects with stakeholder groups.
I was involved in environmental compliance supply chain audit projects, assisting medical device and other manufacturers to ascertain their compliance with RoHS 2, REACH SVHC requirements, and Dodd-Frank Conflict Minerals legislation. I also helped draft risk assessment reports and comprehensive compliance roadmap and training documentation for major medical device manufacturers. My role largely consisted of research and report drafting on the following regulations:

Sales & Marketing Associate / Assistant to VP of Business Development
At TerraChoice / UL Environment, I planned, executed & tracked results of strategic sales campaigns for EcoLogo Program including cold calls, e-marketing & trade shows, including the planning & development of marketing collateral & campaigns (i.e. Newsletters, Advertising, Trade Shows & travel). I led marketing and client service teams in sector growth initiatives and provided excellent client service securing new key accounts.
TerraChoice Environmental Consulting, which was acquired by UL Environment in 2012, was primarily involved with environmental sustainability marketing consulting, and administration of the ECOLOGO Program. My role was to conduct sales and business development under the direction of The VP, Business Development for The ECOLOGO Program, North America’s premiere multi-attribute ISO14000 product environmental certification. During the process of brand transition to UL Environment, I was primarily responsible for promoting The EcoLogo Program’s Janitorial and Sanitation Supply standards, EcoLogo’s largest certification stream.
Under UL Environment, my sales portfolio was diversified into selling UL Environment core service offerings such as Environmental Claims Validations, Environmental Product Certifications & Declarations, and Environmental Consulting Services such as LEED, LCA and Carbon Footprint.

Green Services Business Development Manager
As Green Services Business Development Manager, my main focus was on front-line client inquiries, assessment of regulatory consultative requirements through research of regulatory implications for client’s business model. I would consult prospective clients, occasionally with the support of a member of the regulatory consulting team to identify and address environmental regulatory challenges. Solutions included analytical laboratory or onsite testing, supply chain or product materials audits, or regulatory compliance gap assessments or compliance consulting and training programs.
During my time with Intertek Health and Environmental, I acted as a subject matter expert on many of the toxins that are found in the products that we use on a day-to-day basis, and their health and environmental impacts. My focus was largely on environmental regulatory compliance for the electronics and children’s products industries.

Lee Valley Tools offers high-quality woodworking tools, woodworking plans, woodworking supplies, gardening tools, gardening supplies, and hardware to woodworkers and gardeners.
Lee Valley has developed an international reputation for manufacturing the Veritas line of woodworking tools, considered the pinnacle of engineering and craftsmanship. Lee Valley also has a renowned reputation for excellence in Customer Service, on which they have built a longstanding legacy. An active woodworker and gardener, I was primarily responsible for delivering impeccable client service.
My role was primarily fielding complaints, questions and providing technical assistance. Many of our clients were master craftsmen & women. I often dealt with complex woodworking issues that had me researching the chemistry of adhesives and finishes, the physics of precision machining and the metallurgy of sharpening. Often my job took me into the workshop, working out difficult issues by attempting to reproduce conditions. Other times, I would have tools Rockwell hardness tested or microscopically inspected by Veritas engineers.
I was involved extensively as a liaison between engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing, involved in product testing and troubleshooting of products based on customer feedback. From verifying blade tolerances to 0.003″ to seeing how much weight a hammock will take before it rips, or assuring a customer they won’t perish from accidentally imbibing “Compost Tea”, there was virtually no length I to which would not go to assist a client.
